Expect to see a lot happing in this space in the future; not only will I be listing my completed and ongoing projects, but I will also use this website to discuss current trends, offer you hints and tips on interior design, and let you know what’s hot and what’s not.
I’ve just finished a project in Sutherland Avenue, and I’m incredibly proud of it. This one was a bit of a challenge, the clients decided to strip out everything and start from scratch – right down to the bare bricks and floorboards! However, this gave us the perfect blank canvas to create their dream home. Located in Maida Vale, this three bedroom maisonette had stunning views over Paddington basin, and we made sure that this was a feature of the main living area by incorporating a modern Juliette balcony. Floor to ceiling windows brought in extra light and added that extra level of home comfort. The best decision we made here was to change the plans and put the living kitchen area upstairs and bedrooms downstairs. With light pouring in through 4 large patio doors and an open plan contemporary kitchen, we created a spectactular every day bright airy living space.
Every area of this property was revitalised; I suggested Italian porcelain tiles, calacatta quartz kitchen surfaces with dove grey cabinets, and large glass balustrades, reminding everyone how the final touches can really make a place sparkle. The vertical stripes on the wall paper up the staircase, gave the property an added drama and emphasised the ceiling heights beautifully.
I really loved this job, because it shows just how much we can achieve, even when starting with nothing. But, that’s not to say I can’t work my magic on individual rooms too.
